We are seeking a dedicated and patient Teaching Assistant / Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in Islington. This role involves providing 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with behavioural and social-emotional needs, helping them engage positively in learning and school life.
Role Responsibilities
Provide consistent 1:1 behaviour and learning support to a KS2 student.
Use de-escalation strategies and positive behaviour management techniques.
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider school staff.
Help the pupil build confidence, regulate emotions, and remain engaged in lessons.
Support learning activities across the curriculum where needed.
Build a trusting relationship to promote progress socially, emotionally, and academically.
Ideal Candidate
Experience supporting children with behaviour needs or SEN (ADHD, SEMH, ASD etc.).
Calm, empathetic, and proactive approach.
Able to follow behaviour plans and adapt strategies when required.
Good communication skills and confidence working within a team.
Reliable, committed, and passionate about helping young people succeed.
