SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) - Richmond
Location: Richmond
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
ASAP start - ASAP trials available
A warm, welcoming, and well-resourced three-form entry primary school in Richmond is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for children with complex needs. This full-time role involves working closely with pupils who have autism and ADHD, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and thrive both academically and socially.

The Right Candidate Will
Bring experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or complex SEN needs
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation
Demonstrate patience, empathy, and consistent boundaries
Be able to scaffold learning and help children access the curriculum at an appropriate level
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored support strategies
Be committed to staying long-term to ensure consistency for the children
Requirements
Experience in a similar SEN TA or 1:1 support role (KS1 or KS2 experience welcomed)
Strong understanding of SEN strategies, particularly for autism and ADHD
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply
Professional references and (if needed) overseas police checks
