SEN Teaching Assistant (1:1) - Richmond
Location: Richmond
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
ASAP start - ASAP trials available

A warm, welcoming, and well-resourced three-form entry primary school in Richmond is seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for children with complex needs. This full-time role involves working closely with pupils who have autism and ADHD, helping them access learning, regulate emotions, and thrive both academically and socially.

The Right Candidate Will

  • Bring experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, or complex SEN needs

  • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils to support emotional regulation

  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, and consistent boundaries

  • Be able to scaffold learning and help children access the curriculum at an appropriate level

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored support strategies

  • Be committed to staying long-term to ensure consistency for the children


Requirements

  • Experience in a similar SEN TA or 1:1 support role (KS1 or KS2 experience welcomed)

  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, particularly for autism and ADHD

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to apply

  • Professional references and (if needed) overseas police checks
