Support Staff Vacancies - Pupil Referral Unit (Tameside)
Location: Tameside
Contract: Full-time / Term-time
Start Date: ASAP
Our Tameside Pupil Referral Unit is expanding its team and seeking skilled, dedicated Support Staff to help us provide a safe, nurturing and structured environment for pupils who require alternative provision.
We support children and young people who may have experienced challenges in mainstream settings and need a personalised, supportive approach to learning and behaviour.
About the Role
As part of our team, you will:
Support pupils with social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils engage in learning.
Assist with classroom activities, small-group interventions and bespoke timetables.
Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to maintain a calm, supportive environment.
Contribute to behaviour support, de-escalation and emotional regulation strategies.
Help pupils develop confidence, resilience and positive routines.
About You
We would love to hear from you if you:
Have experience supporting young people with SEMH or complex needs (PRU/AP experience beneficial but not essential).
Are calm, resilient and able to respond to challenging behaviour professionally.
Can build rapport quickly and work with empathy and consistency.
Are a strong communicator and a reliable team player.
Are passionate about helping young people re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
