Location: Swindon
Start: ASAP

At Tradewind Recruitment, we pride ourselves on being a supportive, people-first agency that genuinely listens to staff and schools. We work closely with specialist provisions across Swindon, ensuring every placement is the right fit for both the setting and the individual. As our partner schools continue to expand their needs, we are looking to welcome additional SEN Cover Supervisors to our temporary workforce.

About the role:
We are recruiting multiple SEN Cover Supervisors to work on a full-time, temporary basis within a large all-through special educational needs setting. However, for the right Cover Supervisors, permanent roles will be considered when they open.

Your role will involve:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons to small classes across KS1 to Post-16
  • Managing the classroom and maintaining a calm, structured learning environment
  • Supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, ASD, SEMH needs, communication challenges and sensory differences
  • Working alongside experienced teachers, therapists and support staff
  • Adapting activities, routines and behaviour strategies to meet individual needs
  • Building positive relationships and promoting independence, safety and engagement

What to Expect from the Pupils
Students may present with:

  • Communication barriers and limited verbal language
  • Emotional dysregulation, low frustration tolerance or anxiety-based behaviours
  • Sensory processing needs
  • Learning delays that require a patient, consistent and person-centred approach
  • Occasional challenging behaviour, supported by clear behaviour plans and strong senior leadership structures

This role is ideal for someone calm, confident and resilient, who enjoys working with diverse learners and can think on their feet.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN (school, tutoring or youth work backgrounds all considered)
  • Confidence leading a classroom with pre-set work
  • Flexibility across year groups and age ranged
  • Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills
  • Reliability, flexibility and a genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
  • Full-time availability (Monday-Friday) preferred, part time will be considered
