Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a dedicated SEMH School in Bottesford, who are seeking a committed SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils across KS1 and KS2. This is a full-time TA role involving 1:1 support, small-group work and assisting the class teacher in creating a calm, structured learning environment.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support KS1 and KS2 pupils with a range of social, emotional and behavioural needs.
Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging, creative learning activities.
Build positive, trusting relationships to help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning.
Provide consistent routines, reassurance and structure throughout the school day.
Work closely with the pastoral and therapeutic teams to support pupils' holistic development.
Help implement behaviour strategies and personalised support plans.
Encourage independence, confidence and resilience in each child.
What We're Looking For
Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs (school, youth work or similar).
A patient, empathetic and child-centred approach.
Strong communication and behaviour management skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and use initiative.
Willingness to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
Due to the rural location, own transport and ability to drive are essential.
Working Hours
Monday-Thursday: 08:30 - 16:30
Friday: 08:30 - 16:00 (early finish!)
