PRU Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking experienced and adaptable Teachers to support pupils within Pupil Referral Units (PRUs), working both on-site and off-site across the local community.

This role involves delivering tailored tuition to GCSE-aged students who are unable to access mainstream or on-site education. Teaching will take place in a range of settings including students' homes, care homes, cafés, and other agreed local venues.

The role will include:

  • Delivering 1:1 or small-group tuition in core subjects (English, Maths, and Science)

  • Supporting GCSE-aged pupils with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or additional needs

  • Planning and adapting lessons to suit non-traditional learning environments

  • Building positive, trusting relationships to re-engage pupils with education

  • Working closely with PRU staff, families, and external professionals

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a qualified Teacher (QTS preferred)

  • Have experience working in PRUs, alternative provision, or with vulnerable learners

  • Be confident teaching core subjects at KS4 / GCSE level

  • Be flexible, resilient, and comfortable working off-site in community settings
