We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join vibrant inclusive and specialist education settings across Scunthorpe. These incredibly rewarding roles give you the chance to deliver high-quality, personalised support in two inspiring areas.
KS1 & KS2 (primary-aged pupils) - Supporting young learners with Learning Disabilities in nurturing primary and specialist settings KS3 - KS5 (secondary and post-16) - Working with older students with Learning Disabilities in specialist provisions, helping them build independence, life skills and prepare for their future
In these roles you will:
Work 1:1, in small groups or as part of the class team to deliver tailored support Help implement individual education plans (EHCPs) and support learning, communication and personal development Assist with personal care (where required), social skills, behaviour strategies and sensory needs Promote independence, confidence and achievement in a positive, inclusive environment Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, families and other professionals
We are looking for people who:
Have experience (paid or voluntary) supporting children/young people with additional needs - particularly Learning Disabilities (essential for some roles, highly desirable for others) Are patient, empathetic, flexible and have a good sense of humour Hold (or are willing to work towards) relevant qualifications e.g. Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching & Learning / CACHE / TA qualification (desirable) Have GCSE English & Maths Grade C/4 or equivalent (or be prepared to achieve) Are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children Ideally hold (or are willing to undertake) training in areas such as Team Teach, Makaton, autism awareness, or positive behaviour support
