Tradewind Recruitment is seeking individuals with experience in the Prison Service, Young Offender Institutions (YOI), or Youth Offending Teams to transition into Secondary Schools across Lancashire. Our schools are looking for staff who aren't easily intimidated, who understand complex group dynamics, and who have the "presence" to maintain safety and order in an educational setting.

You know how to use verbal de-escalation to "talk down" a high-stress situation.
You understand the importance of consistency, routine, and clear expectations for young people.
You believe in "fresh starts" and have the patience to work with students who have been let down by the system.
Your Responsibilities
Inclusion Lead: Managing the "Isolation" or "Reflective" units where students go when they cannot be in a mainstream classroom.
Direct Intervention: Working 1:1 with students at risk of permanent exclusion or those involved in anti-social behaviour outside of school.
Safety & Presence: Providing a calm, authoritative presence in corridors and during transition periods.
Mentoring: Helping students understand the long-term consequences of their actions and guiding them toward better choices.

What We Need From You
Proven Experience: A background in HMP, YOI, Police, or Youth Offending is essential.
Resilience: A thick skin and a calm, professional temperament.
Integrity: High standards of safeguarding and the ability to act as a positive role model.
DBS: A willingness to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (we can facilitate this).
