Cover Supervisor - Northampton
Start Date: January 2026 | Full-Time or Part-Time | Long-Term with Permanent Potential

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a range of supportive secondary schools across Northampton, who are looking to appoint reliable and confident Cover Supervisors from January 2026. Schools are offering flexible full-time or part-time opportunities, with long-term placements that may lead to permanent roles for the right candidates.

As a Cover Supervisor, you'll play a key role in ensuring continuity of learning by supervising pre-planned lessons during teacher absences. You'll help create a positive and well-managed classroom environment while supporting students to stay engaged and on task.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supervising pre-set lessons across KS3 and KS4

  • Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a focused learning environment

  • Providing clear instructions and guidance to students

  • Supporting pupils with lesson tasks where appropriate

  • Reporting back on student engagement, behaviour, and progress

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young people (school-based experience desirable)

  • Be confident leading a classroom and promoting positive behaviour

  • Be open to flexible working patterns, either full-time or part-time

  • Be interested in a long-term role with the potential for permanent employment

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
