Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and ambitious secondary school in Northampton that is seeking an Unqualified English Teacher to join their English department from January 2026. This role would suit someone with previous school-based experience as well as those earlier in their education career, all supported by an experienced and welcoming department.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
Delivering engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, supported by schemes of work and departmental resources
Supporting students with reading, writing, and comprehension, including targeted literacy interventions
Leading small-group sessions and providing one-to-one support where needed
Maintaining a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
Contributing to English enrichment activities such as reading clubs, creative writing, or debate groups
This Role Would Suit:
Graduates in English or a related subject, as well as candidates with previous classroom or tutoring experience
Cover supervisors, instructors, tutors, or teaching assistants ready to take on more responsibility
Individuals with strong subject knowledge and confident communication skills
Those considering teacher training routes such as PGCE, School Direct, or SCITT, or experienced educators seeking a long-term role
Experience working with secondary-aged students is beneficial, but not essential
