Science Technician - Lambeth / Merton / Croydon

Location: Lambeth, Merton & Croydon
Start Date: ASAP / September Start
Contract: Full-time or Part-time | Term-time
Pay: Competitive (dependent on experience)

We are working with several secondary schools across Lambeth, Merton, and Croydon who are seeking reliable and organised Science Technicians to support their science departments.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing equipment, materials, and chemicals for science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)

• Supporting practical experiments in line with health & safety regulations

• Maintaining, cleaning, and safely storing laboratory equipment

• Assisting teaching staff with demonstrations and practical setups

• Managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and keeping accurate records

• Ensuring laboratories meet COSHH and CLEAPSS guidelines

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory/school setting

• Strong understanding of health & safety procedures in science environments

• Excellent organisation and time-management skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A proactive and flexible approach

Desirable (Not Essential)

• Experience in a secondary school science department

• Science qualification (A-Level, Degree, or equivalent)

• Knowledge of CLEAPSS guidance

• First Aid or safeguarding training
