Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a resilient and driven Cover Supervisor on behalf of a leading Alternative Provision in Preston. This setting caters to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students who require a bespoke approach to education due to social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be the face of the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher. You won't just be "minding" a class; you will be:
Delivering pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects to KS3 and KS4 students.
Using strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a calm and productive atmosphere.
Building rapid rapport with students who may find change and new faces challenging.
Working collaboratively with a team of specialists to ensure no student falls behind.
What We Are Looking For
Education: A Degree-level qualification (or equivalent) and 5 GCSEs (C or above) including Maths and English.
Experience: At least 6 months of experience working with 11-16-year-olds (ideally within an SEN, AP, or challenging mainstream environment).
Mindset: A positive, "can-do" attitude and a genuine desire to work with vulnerable young people.
Skills: The ability to adapt quickly, lead a classroom with confidence, and stay calm under pressure.
