Cover Supervisor
Location: Northumberland
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible Supply
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Pay Rate: £105-£130 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
Tradewind Recruitment are seeking enthusiastic and a reliable Cover Supervisor to support learning across Secondary Schools in Northumberland. The role involves working with students across Key Stages 3 and 4 and is ideal for individuals who are confident, organised, and passionate about supporting young people.
You will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged with the work set.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise classes and ensure work set by the teacher is completed to a high standard
Maintain a calm, focused classroom environment in line with school behaviour policies
Manage student behaviour effectively and promote positive engagement
Provide feedback on student progress, behaviour, and engagement
Distribute resources and support students where appropriate
Undertake additional duties to support the smooth running of the school
Uphold safeguarding and child protection responsibilities at all times
Person Specification
Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Confidence delivering instructions across a range of subjects
Ability to manage classroom behaviour and motivate learners
Positive, flexible approach and commitment to supporting young people
