Job Description

We are seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to join our supportive team at an SEN school in Scunthorpe, working with Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and additional complex needs.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support KS3 and KS4 students in their learning, both 1:1 and in small groups

  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored lessons and practical activities

  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and social development

  • Support students with Autism, Learning Disabilities, and other additional needs

  • Help with emotional regulation, communication, and personal care where necessary

  • Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)

  • Is patient, empathetic, and able to build strong relationships

  • Communicates effectively with students, staff, and parents

  • Works well as part of a team and follows school policies

  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
