The Role: Your Final Step to Headship

Are you an ambitious Deputy Head or Senior Leader ready to run your own site? We are looking for a visionary, resilient, and compassionate leader to join our Blackpool Alternative Provision as Deputy Headteacher, with a clear, supported pathway to becoming Headteacher.

In the AP sector, leadership isn't about OFSTED checklists; it's about changing the trajectory of a young person's life. We need a leader who understands trauma-informed practice, knows how to inspire a disillusioned staff team, and isn't afraid to do things differently.

Whether you have QTS or have climbed the leadership ladder through industry/specialist settings, if you can lead, we want you.

  • Fully Funded NPQH: We will pay for and support you through your National Professional Qualification for Headship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: Work alongside the current leadership to drive the school's vision and improve student outcomes.

  • Culture Builder: Foster a "High Support, High Challenge" environment for both students and staff.

  • Curriculum & Quality: Oversee the delivery of a bespoke, non-traditional curriculum that meets the complex needs of our learners.

  • Safeguarding & Wellbeing: Act as a champion for the safety and mental health of some of the town's most vulnerable young people.

Who You Are

  • An Experienced Leader: You have a proven track record as a Deputy Head, Assistant Head, or Senior Lead in a SEND, AP, or challenging mainstream environment.

  • Relational: You lead with empathy and "soft power," building trust with students who have been let down by the system.

  • Ready for the Top: You have the drive to take over the reins and are looking for a setting that will invest in your career progression.
