Job Description
The Opportunity: Lead the Future of AP in Pendle
Are you a Senior Leader or Deputy Head ready to take the final step into Headship? We are looking for a powerhouse leader to join our Alternative Provision serving the Barnoldswick and Colne communities.
This isn't a role for a "clipboard leader." We need a Deputy Head with grit, emotional intelligence, and a passion for social justice. This position is specifically designed as a Headship Fast-Track: we will provide the mentorship, the autonomy, and the fully funded NPQH qualification to move you into a Headteacher role.
QTS is not essential. We are looking for the right person-whether your background is in traditional schooling, youth justice, or specialist SEND leadership.
The Role & Your Impact
Strategic Growth: Help lead a provision that bridges the gap for students across Pendle who need a non-traditional path to success.
Staff Empowerment: Inspire and develop a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of resilience and trauma-informed practice.
Bespoke Innovation: Drive a curriculum that works for our local context-blending academic progress with vocational and life-skills excellence.
Community Connection: Build strong links with local families, businesses, and mainstream schools in the Barnoldswick/Colne area.
Why Choose This Provision?
The "Fast-Track" Guarantee: We are committed to your professional evolution. We pay for your NPQH and provide a clear timeline for your transition to Headship.
Professional Autonomy: We value creative solutions over rigid bureaucracy. If you have a better way to engage our students, we'll give you the green light to try it.
Immediate Start: We have a seat at the table waiting for you right now.
Who You Are
A Proven Leader: You have significant experience at the Deputy or Assistant Head level (or equivalent senior management in an educational/youth setting).
Expert in Complexity: You understand the nuances of SEND, SEMH, and the challenges facing young people today.
A Change-Maker: You aren't looking for a "comfortable" job; you're looking to build a legacy in a community that truly needs high-quality alternative education.
Local Knowledge: An understanding of the East Lancashire educational landscape is a distinct advantage.
How to Apply
If you have the vision to lead and the heart to serve the young people of Barnoldswick and Colne, we want to hear from you.
Please send your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your "Leadership Philosophy" to: rachael.boaler@twrecruitment.com or click apply.
