Job Title: School Finance Manager / Finance Officer

Location: Barnoldswick, Lancashire (BB18)

Salary: Up to £32,000 per annum (Depending on experience)

Contract: Full-Time, Permanent

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive School Finance Manager to oversee the financial health of our school in Barnoldswick. This is a pivotal role where you will manage the school budget, ensure statutory compliance, and support the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in delivering the best possible resources for our pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Budget Management: Leading the preparation, monitoring, and reporting of the annual school budget.

  • Financial Reporting: Providing monthly management accounts and variance analysis to the Headteacher and Board of Governors.

  • Payroll & Pensions: Overseeing the accurate processing of staff payroll and pension contributions (LGPS/TPS).

  • Procurement: Managing school contracts and ensuring "Best Value" across all suppliers and services.

  • Audit & Compliance: Ensuring the school meets all SFVS (School Financial Value Standard) requirements and managing the year-end audit process.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience: Proven experience in a finance role, ideally within the education sector or a public sector environment.

  • Systems: Proficiency in school finance software such as SIMS FMS, Access Education Finance, or Sage.

  • Skills: Strong Excel skills and the ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

  • Local Knowledge: Based in or able to commute easily to Barnoldswick, near Colne and Skipton.
