SEND Assistant - Secondary Schools - Wellingborough
Location: Wellingborough (Multiple Schools)
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time | Long-Term / Permanent
Salary: Competitive hourly/daily rates (depending on experience)

We are working with several secondary schools in Wellingborough seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Assistants to join their teams on a long-term or permanent basis from February 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone eager to support pupils with additional needs, contribute to inclusive education, and work alongside experienced SEN teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting students with SEND in lessons and during school activities
Assisting with personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet individual needs
Helping students develop social, communication, and independent living skills
Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to promote inclusive learning
Supporting behaviour management and ensuring a safe, supportive environment
Assisting with personal care and mobility where required
Keeping accurate records and reporting on student progress and wellbeing
What We're Looking For:
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in education, childcare, or SEND support is desirable but not essential
Reliable, flexible, and committed to making a positive impact
Strong communication skills and a calm, approachable manner
