SEND Assistant - Secondary Schools - Wellingborough

Location: Wellingborough (Multiple Schools)
Start Date: February 2026
Contract: Full-Time | Term-Time | Long-Term / Permanent
Salary: Competitive hourly/daily rates (depending on experience)

We are working with several secondary schools in Wellingborough seeking compassionate and dedicated SEND Assistants to join their teams on a long-term or permanent basis from February 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone eager to support pupils with additional needs, contribute to inclusive education, and work alongside experienced SEN teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with SEND in lessons and during school activities

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and adapting resources to meet individual needs

  • Helping students develop social, communication, and independent living skills

  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and other staff to promote inclusive learning

  • Supporting behaviour management and ensuring a safe, supportive environment

  • Assisting with personal care and mobility where required

  • Keeping accurate records and reporting on student progress and wellbeing

What We're Looking For:

  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEND

  • Patience, empathy, and excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Experience in education, childcare, or SEND support is desirable but not essential

  • Reliable, flexible, and committed to making a positive impact

  • Strong communication skills and a calm, approachable manner
