Job Description

Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking resilient, dedicated Teaching Assistants to work in a SEND school supporting pupils with complex needs and very challenging behaviour.

This is a demanding but highly rewarding role, ideal for individuals who are passionate about making a real difference to the lives of children who need consistent, patient, and skilled support.

The Role:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour in a calm and safe manner

  • Supporting children with a range of learning difficulties, social, emotional and mental health needs

  • Working closely with teachers and specialist staff to implement support strategies

  • Creating a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, or additional needs

  • Proven ability to work with pupils displaying very challenging behaviour

  • A resilient, patient, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable children
