Teaching Assistant

SANZA Teaching Agency are currently recruiting on behalf of a warm and welcoming primary school in Waltham Forest.

They are looking for an approachable, motivating and reliable teaching assistant to join their school.

The role:

Work 1:1 with a student in year 6
Student has Autism and SEMH needs (social, emotional and mental health)
The student can display some behavioural challenges and is defiant, but responds well to adults once rapport is built
The role is to start on 23^rd February until end of July 2026

About you:

Must have a strong ability to connect with young people
Show genuine care and concern for students' feelings and wellbeing
Ability to remain calm, composed and communicate effectively
Adjust approaches based on the child's needs, mood, or circumstances
Be able to assist the student in building confidence and self- esteem
Use active listening and validate emotions
Be able to teach and model coping strategies and emotional regulation
