About This Role:
A well-established SEMH primary school in Sutton is seeking an outstanding Teaching Assistant to join their therapeutic team. This is a full-time, long-term position starting after February half term, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school provides specialist provision for children aged 5-11 with social, emotional, and mental health needs, using trauma-informed approaches to help every child reach their potential in a nurturing, structured environment.

What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in an SEMH, PRU, or specialist primary school environment
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice and experience supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs
- Experience working with children with one or more of the following:
- ADHD
- ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder)
- Anxiety disorders
- Self-harming behaviours and suicidal ideation
- Attachment difficulties
- Speech & Language difficulties
- Dyslexia or Dyspraxia
- Exceptional de-escalation and positive behaviour support skills with a calm, consistent approach
- Strong emotional resilience and ability to build trusting relationships with vulnerable children
- Genuine passion for therapeutic education and championing every child's right to succeed
- Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one)
- Full commitment to safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
