Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant - Year 4 (Oldham)

We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with significant behavioural needs. This is a rewarding role where you will play a crucial part in helping a child access learning, develop positive behaviours, and thrive within the school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consistent 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil with complex behavioural challenges

  • Implement effective de-escalation and behaviour management strategies

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher and other professionals to develop and follow an individual support plan

  • Encourage academic engagement and maintain focus and motivation

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

  • Monitor, record, and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and interventions

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or challenging behaviour

  • Team Teach trained (or willing to undertake training)

  • Calm, patient, and proactive approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Commitment to supporting both emotional well-being and academic progress

  • Flexible and adaptable in response to changing needs
