SEN Teaching Assistant - Year 1 (1:1 Support)
Camden | Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm | £95 per day | Full-Time Immediate start until July 2026
A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Camden is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join their Year 1 team on a full-time basis.
This rewarding role involves working closely with two children with ASD within the Year 1 classroom, providing tailored support to help them access learning, develop socially and emotionally, and thrive within a mainstream setting.
The Role:
- As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you'll provide 1:1 and small group support for two pupils with ASD
- Support learning within the Year 1 classroom environment
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies
- Foster a nurturing, structured and engaging learning environment
- Support children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Strong experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ASD
- A solid background in supporting pupils with SEMH needs
- Experience within an EYFS setting and a strong understanding of learning through play
- Patience, resilience, and a proactive approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
