Teaching Assistant - Reception (SEND Support)
Camden | Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4:00pm | £95 per day | Full-Time Immediate start until July 2026
A nurturing and inclusive primary school in Camden are seeking an experienced and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a full-time basis.
This role will involve working as one of two adults supporting a non-verbal child with ASD in Reception. The child is currently on a part-time timetable (approximately 90 minutes per day). For the remainder of the day, you will support targeted interventions across EYFS and Year 1.
The Role:
- Work collaboratively with another adult to support a non-verbal pupil with ASD
- Provide structured, nurturing and consistent 1:1 support during the child's timetable
- Use appropriate communication strategies (e.g. visual supports, PECS, Makaton where appropriate)
- Support targeted interventions across EYFS and Year 1
- Assist with learning through play and structured activities
- Promote social interaction, engagement and emotional development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- A strong background supporting non-verbal children with ASD
- Extensive experience working within SEND settings
- Experience within EYFS, with a good understanding of early development and play-based learning
- Patience, empathy and a calm, proactive approach
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
