Job Description
Let's be honest: You're a Food Technology Teacher. You spend your days balancing practical health & safety, GCSE theory, and the occasional flour explosion. You want a school that actually supports that hustle.
Tradewind Recruitment is looking for a Food Technology Teacher (KS3/KS4) for a high-energy secondary school in Birmingham. This is the role you're looking for if you want a department that values your subject as much as Core Maths.
The Breakdown:
- The Schedule: Full-time, long-term. You're there for the academic year (and likely forever if you love it).
- The Money: £168.81 - £232.56 per day (M1 - M6). We pay you what you're worth from Day 1. No "trial pay" nonsense.
- The Mission: Turn KS3 curiosity into KS4 GCSE success. You'll be the lead on Food Prep & Nutrition, managing the kitchen and the curriculum.
What You Actually Need (The Checklist):
- QTS/QTLS: You've done the training; you have the badge.
- Kitchen Command: You can manage 20+ students with hot ovens and sharp knives without breaking a sweat.
- GCSE Strategy: You know the AQA/OCR/Eduqas specs inside out and can get those Grade 9s.
- A Valid DBS: Ideally on the Update Service so we can get you started ASAP.
Why Choose Tradewind:
- We're a Sunday Times Top 100 Employer that doesn't treat teachers like numbers.
- Free CPD: 2,500+ courses. If you want to learn it, we probably have a certificate for it.
- Flexibility: We handle the admin, the DBS, and the references. You just teach.
- The "Exit" Strategy: This is a Temp-to-Perm role. Test the school out-if the culture fits, stay for the long haul.
How to Apply:
Stop scrolling and start cooking (metaphorically). If you have the QTS and the passion, we have the kitchen.
