Job Description

A well-run and inclusive secondary school in Islington is looking for a reliable Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible. This is a long-term role offering consistency, support, and the chance to build meaningful relationships with students.

You'll be working across KS3 and KS4, supporting students in lessons, helping them stay focused, and providing additional guidance to those who need it most. Some students will need academic help, others reassurance and structure - no two days are the same.

The role will involve:

  • Supporting students in lessons across a range of subjects
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups with pupils who need extra help
  • Assisting teachers with classroom routines and behaviour support
  • Helping students build confidence, independence, and engagement

This role suits someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people (school, tutoring, youth work, mentoring, care, etc.)
  • Is calm, patient, and confident with secondary-aged students
  • Wants a long-term role rather than day-to-day supply
  • Is genuinely interested in education and student development
