Job Role: Behaviour Mentor

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a specialist alternative provision in West London that is looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join their team. This is a full-time role supporting students who need extra help managing behaviour and engaging with their education.

The setting works with young people who may have faced challenges in mainstream school and need additional support with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behaviour regulation, and confidence. As a Behaviour Mentor, you'll play a key role in supporting students both in and out of the classroom, helping them stay focused, regulate behaviour, and build positive routines.

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups

  • Helping students manage behaviour and remain engaged with learning

  • Using de-escalation strategies to support students during challenging situations

  • Building positive relationships and acting as a strong role model

  • Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support behaviour plans

  • Encouraging students to develop confidence, resilience, and positive choices

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviour

  • Is confident using de-escalation techniques to manage difficult situations

  • Is calm, patient, and resilient

  • Can build strong relationships and earn students' trust

  • Is passionate about helping young people succeed
