Design Technology

Tradewind Recruitment are recruiting for a full time or part time (at least Monday to Wednesday) Design Technology Teacher to work at an exceptional private school situated just outside of York. This position is to start 13th April and will last until the 19th of June when the school closes for summer. Payment for this position will be in line with the main teaching pay scale, meaning candidates can expect to earn between £168.80 and £232.56 per day. Working hours for the school are 8:10 - 4:30PM.

The School is situated just outside of York, and most easily accessible via car as public transport options are limited due to the rural location. The school has excellent facilities in their creative arts department, and a Head of Department who are happy to support and develop staff members. Applications from ECTs would be happily accepted for this role, with the option available to complete 1 term of ECT in this booking.

The school can be flexible with this role, and can offer DT teaching in: Product Design, 3D Design, Resistant Materials or Textiles, as well as the potential to offer some Art Teaching. As such, the school are happy to accept applications from all specialisms of Design Technology.

Tradewind will also support your development during your placement and beyond through our fantastic CPD via The National College. You will be put onto all of the same CPD as permanent staff members, and encouraged to grow.

To join us and be successful in this role you will need to:

  • Has a PGCE or similar teaching qualification
  • Has a relevant qualification in Design Technology, or experience teaching the subject
  • Have experience working within schools in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the full CV History
  • Legal right to work in the UK
