Job Description

A large, vibrant secondary school in Hackney is recruiting a Teaching Assistant to support students with additional learning and behavioural needs. This is a role for someone calm, resilient, and confident setting boundaries in a positive way.

You'll work closely with students who may struggle in a mainstream classroom without the right support - your presence will matter.

Key focus of the role:

  • Supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, and additional needs
  • De-escalation, reassurance, and consistent routines
  • 1:1 and small-group work during lessons
  • Working alongside SEN and pastoral teams

You'll suit this role if you:

  • Have experience in SEN, care, youth work, or behaviour support
  • Can stay calm when things don't go to plan
  • Are firm but fair
  • Want to build meaningful experience in education
