Tradewind Recruitment is pleased to be working with a friendly and welcoming primary school in Woodford, Waltham Forest, to recruit a committed and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join their Nursery team from April 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate Nursery Assistant who enjoys supporting young children at the start of their educational journey. The school is known for its nurturing approach and strong Early Years provision, where children are encouraged to develop confidence, curiosity and independence through engaging, play-based learning.

The successful Nursery Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS staff to support children aged 3-4 in the Nursery class. The role will involve assisting with a range of activities designed to promote communication, creativity and early social skills. The school places great importance on creating a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting children with play-based learning and structured Nursery activities
  • Assisting the teacher in preparing engaging EYFS learning resources
  • Encouraging children's communication, independence and social development
  • Supporting daily routines and transitions throughout the school day
  • Helping to maintain a positive and nurturing classroom environment

The ideal Nursery Assistant will have:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • At least one year's experience working in a Nursery or EYFS setting
  • A good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework
  • A caring, patient and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners
  • The ability to work effectively within a supportive school team

This position is full time (32.5 hours per week), term time only, offering a daily rate starting from £95 PAYE, depending on experience.
