The Role

You'll be working as a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, embedded within a bilingual classroom environment and playing a key hands-on role in supporting children's across both English and Portuguese. This is a full-time, long-term position running through to at least July - with real potential beyond that for the right candidate.

This isn't a passive TA role. You'll be actively supporting and delivering literacy and maths sessions, working closely with the class teacher to ensure pupils are making progress, and contributing to a supportive and productive school environment.

What We're Looking For

Essential

• At least one year of experience working as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a UK school setting
• Strong behaviour management skills - confident, calm, and consistent
• A solid academic grounding with the ability to support and deliver literacy and maths
• Good curriculum knowledge relevant to Key Stage 2
• A genuine passion for languages, language learning, or bilingual education
• Must be fluent in English - Portuguese speakers (native or learner) are very warmly welcomed
• Available full-time and able to commit long-term through to at least July

Desirable

• Some Portuguese language ability - any level considered, passion matters most
• Previous experience working in a bilingual or international school setting
• Experience supporting children with diverse linguistic backgrounds

Salary & Contract

• Paid via PAYE weekly through SANZA Teaching Agency - we handle all compliance and contracts
