Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant, a dedicated Support Worker, or looking to start a rewarding career as an unqualified assistant, we want to hear from you.

Our Burnley-based Alternative Provision is looking for resilient, empathetic, and driven individuals to support students who find mainstream education challenging. This isn't just a "classroom job"-it's an opportunity to provide a fresh start for students who need it most.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant / Support Worker, you will work closely with small groups and on a 1-to-1 basis to help students re-engage with learning. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Mentoring & Support: Building strong, trusting relationships with students facing Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

  • Behavioural Support: Using de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment.

  • Academic Assistance: Supporting the delivery of a tailored curriculum alongside lead teachers.

  • Progress Tracking: Helping students hit their personal and educational milestones.

What We Are Looking For

  • Qualified Candidates: Level 2 or 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) is a plus.

  • Unqualified Candidates: We welcome applicants with backgrounds in sports coaching, youth work, care, or the military who possess the right "can-do" attitude.

  • Local Knowledge: A commitment to supporting the youth community in the Burnley area.

  • Resilience: The ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviour with a smile.

Why Join Our Burnley Team?

  • Competitive Pay: Rates that reflect your experience and dedication.

  • Training & Development: Access to CPD, including Team Teach and Mental Health First Aid.
