Maths Subject Lead - Long-Term Cover

Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a school in Daventry to appoint a strong Maths Subject Lead for a long-term cover position, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Maths teacher or current middle leader to step into a key role within a supportive school environment.

We are looking for a confident and capable practitioner with a strong background in Maths, who can lead the department effectively and ensure high standards of teaching and learning are maintained. The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting both students and staff, while ensuring continuity across the curriculum.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the Maths department

  • Delivering engaging and differentiated Maths lessons across relevant key stages

  • Maintaining high standards of teaching and learning

  • Supporting colleagues and promoting consistency across the department

  • Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

  • Upholding strong behaviour management and a positive learning environment

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • A strong academic background in Mathematics

  • Experience teaching Maths across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable)

  • Previous leadership experience or readiness to step into a leadership role

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills

  • A proactive and adaptable approach
