Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant - Ealing

We are currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to work in specialist SEN schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) across Ealing.

This role involves supporting children and young people with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, and behavioural challenges. You will work on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, helping students access learning and maintain engagement in a structured environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs in and out of the classroom

  • Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour where required

  • Assisting with personalised learning plans and activities

  • Promoting positive behaviour and supporting emotional regulation

  • Working closely with teaching staff and other professionals

Experience working with young people with SEN or in behaviour-focused settings (such as PRUs, alternative provisions, youth work or care) is desirable, but not essential.

We are looking for candidates who are:

  • Resilient, calm and consistent

  • Confident managing behaviour and setting clear boundaries

  • Proactive and adaptable in different school settings

  • Committed to supporting students with additional needs

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within specialist education settings or to build on existing SEN experience.
