Job Title: Cover Supervisor (Secondary)

Location: Durham, County Durham
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Flexible
Start Date: Immediate Start Available
Salary: £105-£130 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)

About the Role

We are currently recruiting confident and adaptable Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Durham. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience in education or those seeking flexible work within a school setting.

As a Cover Supervisor, you will step into the classroom in the absence of the teacher, ensuring students remain engaged and complete pre-set work. You will play a key role in maintaining a positive and structured learning environment across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise classes and deliver pre-planned work in the teacher's absence

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies

  • Ensure a focused and productive learning environment

  • Provide clear instructions and support to students as needed

  • Report back to teaching staff on student progress and behaviour

  • Assist with general school duties where required

Person Specification

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths

  • Strong communication and organisational skills

  • Confidence managing groups of students

  • A proactive, flexible approach to working in different schools

  • A genuine interest in supporting young people and education
