1:1 Teaching Assistant - KS2 (SEMH & PTSD Support)
Full-Time | Long-Term Opportunity

Are you a patient, resilient, and compassionate individual with a passion for supporting children with additional needs? We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one-to-one support for a Key Stage 2 student with social, emotional, and mental health needs, including PTSD.

This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a vital part in helping a young learner feel safe, supported, and ready to engage with education.

The Role:

  • Providing consistent 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with SEMH and PTSD
  • Building a strong, trusting relationship to support emotional regulation and engagement
  • Supporting access to learning in and out of the classroom
  • Implementing tailored strategies to manage behaviour and reduce anxiety
  • Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider pastoral team
  • Creating a calm, structured, and nurturing environment

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
  • An understanding of trauma-informed approaches (desirable)
  • Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning and wellbeing
  • A genuine passion for making a difference in a child's life
