Tradewind Recruitment is proud to partner with a welcoming Blackpool Primary School seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This school is a place where the whole community develops and grows together, ensuring that every pupil can flourish, whatever their talents. This setting is currently rated OFSTED 'Outstanding'.
Following their motto-"Growing great minds together"-the school is looking for a patient educator to support a KS1 pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). This pupil is currently working at a lower developmental level and faces significant speech delays.
The Role: 1:1 Speech & Language Support
This is a term-time, temporary contract starting this April. For the right candidate, there is a strong potential for this role to extend into the September 2026 academic year, providing vital continuity for the pupil.
Communication Support: Implement speech and language strategies (Visuals, PECS, or simplified signing) to bridge communication gaps.
Value-Led Learning: Focus on developing the skills of a "successful learner"-skills the pupil will carry throughout their life.
Curriculum Adaptation: Tailor KS1 activities across every subject to ensure the curriculum is accessible and engaging.
EHCP Tracking: Work closely with the SENCO to monitor and celebrate progress against specific targets.
Requirements
Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or significant demonstrable SEN experience).
Specialist Experience: Previous experience working with children with speech delays, communication difficulties, or non-verbal pupils.
Values-Driven: Someone who aligns with the school's mission to help children develop life-long skills.
Reliability: Ability to commit to a full-time, Monday-Friday schedule (32.5 hours per week).
