Job Title: Pastoral Support Worker
Location: Wirral
Start Date: September 2026
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time, Term Time Only

Are you passionate about supporting the wellbeing and personal development of young people? We are currently recruiting a compassionate and dedicated Pastoral Support Worker to join a supportive school community. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' emotional, social, and behavioural development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide pastoral support to students, promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing
  • Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups to address social, emotional, and behavioural needs
  • Support students in overcoming barriers to learning and improving engagement
  • Liaise with teaching staff, parents, and external agencies where appropriate
  • Monitor and track student progress, attendance, and behaviour
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of pastoral support plans
  • Support safeguarding and child protection procedures in line with school policies

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly in a pastoral or support role
  • A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • The ability to manage challenging behaviour effectively
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training can be provided)
  • A background in psychology, youth work, or education (desirable but not essential)
