Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby Area

Are you passionate about supporting young people with their mental health and wellbeing? Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in schools across the Corby area.

The Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who may experience anxiety, trauma, behavioural challenges, or other mental health needs. You will support them both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where they can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with mental health needs
- Assist in managing behaviour and promoting positive coping strategies
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams
- Build strong, trusting relationships with students
- Support the implementation of individual support plans
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with mental health (desirable but not essential)
- Backgrounds in care, youth work, psychology, or support work are highly valued
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A genuine passion for supporting young people
