Year 3 Teacher (Maternity Cover)
Epsom and Ewell, Surrey
Full-Time | June 2026 - July 2026 | No Planning

An outstanding primary school in Ewell & Epsom area is seeking a dedicated and nurturing Year 3 Class Teacher to join their KS1 team on a temporary maternity cover contract after May half term.

The Role

As a Year 3 Teacher, you will:

  • NO planning involved, but expected to deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Year 3 curriculum
  • Marking pupils work
  • Supports pupils' transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2
  • Teaches core subjects including English, maths, and science
  • Assesses and tracks pupil progress, adapting lessons to meet different needs
  • Creates a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment
  • Manages classroom behaviour effectively using clear expectations
  • Provides feedback to pupils to support improvement
  • Works closely with teaching assistants and other staff
  • Communicates with parents about pupil progress and wellbeing

What the School Is Looking For

  • UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Proven experience teaching Year 3
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
  • Experience delivering phonics, ideally using Little Wandle
  • A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style
  • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management skills
