£92.56-£100 per day (dependent on experience)
TradeWind Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH school in Corby, supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference to young people who may face barriers to learning and need additional emotional and behavioural support to thrive in school.
The Role
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will:
Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
Help pupils develop emotional regulation, resilience and confidence
Promote positive behaviour and support students in managing challenges
Work closely with teachers and pastoral teams to provide tailored support
Help create a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
Support pupils both in the classroom and through intervention or mentoring sessions
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from candidates who:
Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs
Are empathetic, patient and able to build positive relationships
Can remain calm and respond positively in challenging situations
Have an interest in mental health, education, psychology, youth work or care
Have transferable experience from support work, mentoring, coaching or similar backgrounds
