Job Description

Location: Burnley (Offsite Gym Facility) Contract: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum (Depending on Experience)

The Role

Are you a high-energy Football Coach who believes that sport can change lives? We are looking for a resilient, inspiring, and proactive individual to run our offsite gym and sports provision for an Alternative Provision (AP) in Burnley.

This isn't a typical "on-the-grass" coaching job. You will be working with young people who have faced challenges in mainstream education. Using football and fitness as a hook, you will build rapport, manage behaviour, and help students develop the life skills they need to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Game: Plan and deliver high-quality football coaching sessions and fitness programs at our offsite gym.

  • Gym Management: Take full ownership of the offsite gym facility, ensuring a safe, organised, and motivating environment for all students.

  • Mentorship: Act as a positive role model, using sport to engage students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

  • Behaviour Management: Implement clear boundaries and de-escalation strategies to maintain a productive learning environment.

  • Track Progress: Monitor student engagement and development, providing feedback to the wider AP leadership team.

What We're Looking For

  • Qualifications: Minimum FA Level 1 (Level 2 or above preferred) and a relevant fitness/PT qualification.

  • Experience: Proven track record of coaching football and/or working in a gym environment. Experience in an AP, PRU, or SEN setting is a massive plus.

  • Resilience: The ability to stay calm under pressure and handle challenging behaviour with empathy and consistency.

  • Driver's License: Ideally, you will have a full UK driving license to facilitate travel to the offsite gym.

Why Join Us?

  • Competitive Salary: Earn up to £30k, significantly above the local average for standard sports coaching.

  • Temp-to-Perm: We want someone for the long haul. This is your chance to prove your impact before transitioning into a permanent role.

  • Make a Real Difference: You won't just be coaching drills; you'll be changing the trajectory of young lives in Burnley.
