A vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Newham is seeking a dedicated and organised DT/Food Technician to support our thriving Design & Technology and Food departments.
About the Role
As a DT/Food Technician, you will play a key role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning by preparing materials, equipment, and ingredients for practical lessons. You will ensure that all resources are ready for use, while maintaining a safe, clean, and well-organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up equipment, tools, and ingredients for lessons
- Support teachers and students during practical sessions
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene
- Clean and store equipment after use
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
- Ensure all workspaces meet safety and compliance requirements
About You
- Organised, proactive, and able to manage time effectively
- Strong awareness of health and safety practices, particularly in food preparation
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a willingness to support students
- Previous experience in a school or similar environment is desirable but not essential
