Level 3 Teaching Assistants - SEND
Contracts: Full-time and part-time opportunities available with flexible start dates
Location: Leicester and Leicestershire
Start Date: June or September 2026
Role: Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis across schools, including children with mild to moderate SEND
Are you a nurturing and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for education? Tradewind Recruitment is currently working with a number of welcoming and well-regarded schools across Leicester and Leicestershire who are seeking dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams.
With growing demand across classes, we are looking for caring and proactive individuals who can support young children during these vital stages of development. Roles will involve supporting learning through play, assisting with phonics and early communication, encouraging social and emotional development, and providing tailored support for children with additional needs.
- Provide targeted 1:1 or small group support for pupils
- Support pupils with mild to moderate SEND, helping them access the curriculum and develop confidence in learning
- Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
- Help create a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing
- Support the preparation of learning resources and classroom activities
- Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
- Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education (CACHE)
- Level 3 Diploma in Children's Care, Learning and Development (CCLD)
- Level 3 NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development
- Level 3 Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy - Birth to 7
- Level 3 Diploma in Playwork
- Level 3 Award/Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS
- Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Have recent experience working in a UK primary school setting
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEND, particularly in a 1:1 capacity
- Demonstrate strong communication, patience and adaptability
- Be enthusiastic about supporting children's learning and development
- Hold an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
