Functional Skills Tutor - Alternative Provision | Leicester

A well-established education supply agency is seeking dedicated Functional Skills Tutors to work within an Alternative Provision setting in Leicester. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners who benefit from a more personalised and nurturing approach to education.

The Role

  • Deliver engaging Functional Skills English and/or Maths sessions
  • Support students with varying abilities and additional needs
  • Build positive relationships and encourage learner confidence
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Work closely with support staff and wider education teams

Requirements

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills
  • A recognised teaching or tutoring qualification is desirable
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Passion for supporting young people in alternative education settings
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
