1:1 SEN Tutor - Wolverhampton

June 2026 | Tutor | Flexible Hours Between 8am-4pm

 

Are you a passionate and experienced teacher looking to make a genuine difference to young people with Special Educational Needs?

 

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for dedicated 1:1 SEN Tutor to support a child in Wolverhampton from June 2026 to January 2027.

 

This role involves working with a student aged who has been out of mainstream education or require additional support due to a range of SEN. Tuition may take place in school, at home, or within community setting depending on the individual need of the learner.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about delivering personalised education and helping this student build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve positive outcomes.

 

The Role:

  • Deliver tailored 1:1 tuition sessions to the student with SEN and additional needs
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons in core subjects including Maths, English, and Science
  • Adapt lessons around EHCP targets, academic ability, and individual learning styles
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students, families, schools, and professionals
  • Record student progress consistently and provide clear session feedback
  • Create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
  • Work independently while receiving ongoing support from the Tradewind team
  • Flexible working hours available within school hours (8:00am-4:00pm, Monday to Friday)

 

Essential Requirements:

  • Comfortable planning sessions.
  • Experience supporting students with SEN and/or additional needs
  • Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum
  • Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
  • Ability to adapt lessons to suit individual learners
  • Compassionate, patient, and child-centred approach
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one

 

Desirable:

  • Experience delivering GCSE or Functional Skills tuition
  • Previous experience within SEN schools, alternative provisions, or one-to-one tutoring
  • Understanding of differentiated and trauma-informed approaches
