Tradewind Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming and high-achieving secondary school in Brent seeking to appoint a dedicated DT Technician from September 2026. This full-time role is ideal for individuals with strong practical skills and an interest in Design & Technology, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or education.
This is an excellent opportunity to become a valued member of a successful school community, supporting both staff and students in the delivery of engaging and creative DT lessons.
The Role
As a DT Technician, you will provide practical and technical support to the Design & Technology department, ensuring equipment, materials, and resources are prepared and maintained to a high standard.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Preparing materials, tools, and equipment for Design & Technology lessons
- Supporting teachers and students during practical classroom activities
- Maintaining workshop equipment and ensuring resources are readily available
- Monitoring stock levels and ordering materials when required
- Ensuring workshops and classrooms are organised, clean, and safe
- Carrying out routine maintenance checks on machinery and equipment
- Supporting health and safety procedures within the department
- Assisting with displays, projects, and departmental events where required

You should have:
- Good practical and technical skills
- An interest in Design & Technology, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing, or a related field
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety
- Previous experience in a workshop, technical, engineering, or school environment is desirable but not essential
