We are working with a welcoming and nurturing primary school in Long Buckby that is seeking a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity for someone who is committed to making a positive impact on children's educational journeys.
The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to provide high-quality support across the primary age range. You will play an important role in helping pupils engage with learning, develop key skills, and thrive both academically and socially.
About the Role:
As a Level 2 Teaching Assistant, you will support teaching and learning within the classroom, working with individuals, small groups, and occasionally whole classes under the direction of the teacher. You will help create a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Key Responsibilities:
Supporting teaching and learning across the primary curriculum
Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning objectives
Providing additional support for pupils with SEND or those requiring targeted interventions
Encouraging positive behaviour and promoting pupil engagement
Assisting with classroom preparation, learning resources, and daily routines
Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
Who We're Looking For:
Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
Experience working with primary-aged children in a school or childcare setting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, caring, and supportive approach
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about supporting young learners
