KS3/KS4 Tutor - Supply Opportunities Across Wakefield Schools

Location: Wakefield
Salary: £100 - £240 per day (dependent on experience, availability, and pupil requirements)

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking enthusiastic and dedicated KS3/KS4 Tutors to work on a supply basis across a network of schools and alternative provisions in Wakefield.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced educators, tutors, graduates, and learning support professionals who are passionate about helping young people achieve their academic potential. Successful candidates will provide targeted support to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering tuition across a range of subjects based on individual pupil needs and school requirements.

Please note: Applicants must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle, as travel between schools, provisions, and pupil locations may be required.

The Role

As a KS3/KS4 Tutor, your responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering tailored tuition sessions to individual pupils or small groups.
  • Supporting students across a variety of subjects, including English, Maths, Science, Humanities, and other curriculum areas.
  • Identifying learning gaps and implementing strategies to support progress.
  • Building positive relationships with pupils to increase confidence and engagement.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress.
  • Working closely with schools, pastoral teams, and parents where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (KS3 and KS4).
  • Strong knowledge in one or more curriculum subjects.
  • The ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit individual learning needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient, supportive, and encouraging approach.
  • Experience working with pupils who may require additional academic, behavioural, or pastoral support is desirable.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Pay Information

Daily rates typically range from £100 to £240 per day, depending on experience, availability, and the specific requirements of the role.

Candidates looking to achieve the higher end of the pay scale will generally need to demonstrate significant tutoring or teaching experience, be available to work on a full-time basis, and be flexible in supporting a variety of pupil needs. Final pay rates will also be influenced by the complexity of the support required, the individual needs of the child, and the nature of the tuition being delivered.
