Tradewind Recruitment is working with a high-achieving secondary school in Kensington and Chelsea to recruit an enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant for a full-time position commencing in September 2026.

This exciting opportunity is ideal for a graduate seeking valuable classroom experience before progressing into teacher training or a long-term career in education. The successful candidate will work closely with students and teachers, with a particular focus on supporting learning within Religious Education and humanities subjects.

The school is particularly keen to hear from graduates who hold a degree in Religious Education, Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, or a closely related discipline. Your subject knowledge will be used to support students at Key Stages 3 and 4, helping to raise attainment, improve confidence, and promote engagement across the curriculum.

Full-time availability for the entire academic year (September 2026 - July 2027) is essential. Applications that do not meet this requirement will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support students in lessons across a range of curriculum areas, with a particular emphasis on Religious Education and humanities

  • Deliver targeted one-to-one and small-group interventions

  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, classroom activities, and resource creation

  • Support students of varying abilities to access learning and achieve their academic targets

  • Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation in lessons

  • Assist with revision sessions and examination preparation

  • Provide feedback on student progress and contribute to tracking attainment where required

  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents to support student success

Candidate Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Religious Education, Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy, Ethics, or a related subject

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Passion for education and supporting young people to achieve their potential

  • Full-time availability from September 2026 to July 2027

  • Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one

Desirable

  • Previous experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, or youth setting

  • An interest in teacher training or a future career in education

  • Strong subject knowledge within Religious Education or humanities
